Greetings! My name is Neil, and I live in the Midwest – a transplant from New York. I started this blog to share and explore my experiences and passions. I’ve been wanting to keep a blog for some time now to record my thoughts and travels, and now is as good a time as any to start!
I have a wide array of interests and hobbies that vary as far as my participation at any one time. I am sure that I will have a rash of posts from time to time about one thing, then drift off to another. But the likes rarely change, and it isn’t too long before I come back to my old haunts.
When I am not spending too much of my time as a cubicle slave, I am planning trips (I like to take at least one fantastic trip per year), enjoying food and cooking, doing anything cigar related, going to concerts or clubs, getting absorbed in history, or expanding my knowledge of myself and the universe.
Another area that I spend a good deal of time on is dealing with my health concerns. I was diagnosed with Asthma and Chronic Sinus Polyps around 2007. Together, these tend to sometimes make my life miserable. Between a slew of medications and 2 somewhat intensive surgeries, I have all but exhausted the assistance I can get from western medicine – having been told that by several of my doctors.
I have since ventured off the conventional path of healing, using drastic changes in my diet to help my symptoms. I also will be exploring the realm of Shamanism – traveling to Peru to work with indigenous Medicine men to help my condition.
I live with my wonderful girlfriend Jamie and our adorable cat Philippa. We also own 2 alpacas – which is another passion of ours. The Alpacas don’t live with us just yet, but they will when we own a farm and many, many more alpacas!
So, all this and more gives me plenty of fodder to write about… let’s get exploring!
